What is OCD and How is it Treated?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by unwanted and intrusive thoughts, images, sensations, or urges that can cause significant distress. In response to this distress, individuals often engage in certain behaviours or mental rituals in an attempt to reduce the distress or prevent the thoughts from occurring. However, these strategies are typically not effective in the long term and often unintentionally reinforce the cycle of distress, leading to an increase in obsessions and anxiety over time.
